Buncombe County Honor Guard

Latest News:

The Firefighters Honor Guard will be participating in the 7th Annual North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service on May 4th and 5th, 2012. We invite everyone to come stand with us as we honor Asheville Fire Dept Captain Jeff Bowen, Hot Springs Fire Dept Captain Johnny Norton and the other 4 firefighters from North Carolina who died in the line of duty in 2011.

Our Step boxes have been completed Thanks to Dan Ramsey.

We will be setting these up at the County Association Meeting in April

to show them to the Association. Thanks to

Dan Ramsey, his father and his Uncle for all their

hardwork in building these for us. Additional pictures will be posted.

Honor Guard Creed

I am a proud member of a Fire Service Honor Guard.

My standards of conduct and high level of professionalism place me above all others in my service.

I have earned the right to wear the ceremonial uniform, one that is rich in tradition and history.

I am superbly conditioned to perfect all movements throughtout every drill and ceremony.

The level at which I perform will never be dictated by the type of ceremony, severity of the weather, nor the size of the crowd.

I am constantly driven to excel by a strong sense of dedication that runs deeper than patriotism.

While on ceremonies I stand sharp and crisp, motionless by choice.

For I have voluntarily chosen to represent every member past and present.

FOR I AM A CEREMONIAL GUARDSMAN
